How to make QR codes people can actually scan
A QR code is a visual shortcut to a link or small piece of text. It is useful for a menu, portfolio, event registration, payment page or contact details. The QR code itself should be simple; the value comes from the destination being safe, mobile-friendly and useful.
Use a short, final destination
Copy the complete URL and open it in a browser before generating a code. If you later change or delete that page, the printed QR code will still point to the old destination. Use a short link only when you control and trust it.
Leave room around the code
Do not crop the white border around a QR code. Print it with good contrast—dark code on a light background—and test it from a real phone camera before adding it to posters, packaging or business cards.
Protect visitors
Never create a QR code that disguises where it goes. Keep the linked page secure and avoid collecting personal information unless you explain why it is needed. Test your code after downloading it.
